Director's Statment
Ok, how do I describe a man who is both
a Mentor and a Creative Rock Star? I’ll try but
my words are weak. In the time that I have known Goodie
he has changed my work and
influenced
me personally
beyond what I could have imagined another artist could
do. #1 his charm and easy way is infectious. He has more Love in
him than any man normally would after being through some of the
things that he has been through. As I have been working on this
documentary on Goodie I have learned about how cruel the world
can be and about how you can make it a more beautiful place with
your talents. Jeanette his wife and him have made a dynamite team
with their tireless efforts to use the gifts they have to inspire
and teach. They truly walk within their “calling”.
When I met them I was working in art from a very potent but negative
place. But “the meek shall inherit the earth”…that “meekness” is
really strength under control. Dignified, powerful, intelligent,
Loving. That is what describes the hearts of this man and his wife.
With pride I will present to the world my version of who I think
Goodie is because he deserves to be known. By knowing about him
you too may grow. The infectious Love that is in something as simple
as a greeting card hopefully will take over your life as it has
mine. -TJ Walkup |
